Station Setup

Station Setup is the initial configuration process in Wavelog that creates your first Station Location and Logbook, which is required before you can begin logging QSOs.

Clubstations

If you are logging for a clubstation, this can be skipped by selecting the Skip and Open Clubstation button in the wizard

Overview

When you first log in to Wavelog, you'll be guided through the First Login Wizard to set up your initial station location. This wizard collects essential information about your operating location and amateur radio station.

Required Fields

Station Name

A descriptive name for your station location (e.g., "Home QTH"). This helps you identify different operating locations if you have multiple stations.

Station Callsign

Your amateur radio callsign used at this location. This should be entered without spaces (e.g., "4W7EST" or "4W7EST/P" for portable operations).

Station DXCC

The DXCC entity (country) where your station is located. This is selected from a dropdown list of all DXCC entities.

Station Zones

CQ Zone

Your CQ Zone number (1-40). This is used for award tracking and contesting. If you don't know your CQ Zone, you can look it up using the provided link to zone-check.eu.

ITU Zone

Your ITU Zone number (1-90). Similar to CQ Zone, this is used for award tracking. A lookup link is provided if you need to find your ITU Zone.

Station Locator

Your gridsquare locator (e.g., "HM45AP"). This specifies your geographic location using the Maidenhead Locator System and is essential for distance calculations and awards.

Post Setup

Once your first station is successfully created, you'll be redirected to the dashboard.

You can modify your station or add more by clicking on your name in the top menu bar, and selecting Station Setup. The First Login Wizard creates a minimal station profile; additional fields (power, city, state, county, award references) can be configured later through the full station profile editor.

Locations vs Logbooks

Station Locations define operating locations such as your home QTH, a friend's QTH, or portable operation sites. Only one station may be active at a time for logging QSOs. A logbook can be assigned to multiple locations.
